Most Smart TVs released by LG as of 2021 are compatible with webOS 6.0. The OLED, QNED Mini LED, Nanocell and UHD ranges are fully supported. WebOS is an open source platform. 2. I am pretty sure Netflix, Youtube, etc. did not get a TV to develop their app, they probably just got the LG SDK like any normal dev would. 3. Despite the above I have developed webOS apps and yeah I agree it would probably be a complete rewrite of Kodi to get it working there.
54zlIkR. LG webOS is still one of the better experiences on smart TVs for sure. It is generally smooth with good app support and experience and like you said limited built in ads. While not perfect it is the system I like the most if I have to use a smart TV. I do still prefer an Apple TV 4K though.
You need a device running stremio on your network, then connect the tv to it. If you use https streams then it should work out of the box. You can use it if you have a Real Debrid account and just play the cached files. It might still bring up the error, but then it will play.
I think LG uses WebOS in their Smart TVs (please correct me if I'm wrong on that point), and I don't think there's a Kodi build for WebOS. As for Samsung, I think they use their own propriety OS also called Tizen, and I think there isn't a Kodi build for our either.
I'm not sure if many are aware, but LG TVs running webos (under webos 2.x here) probably contain a *full* installation of Qt ( in my case full Qt 5.2.1 is installed). When I said full, I mean that all Qt quick, declarative, webKit, gui, network, OpenGL, etc. Qt libraries are available . So far I've managed to successfully test/run the following:

Everyone in this thread must know about webOS if not do your homework then get back again, LG did a great work on this operating system after HP and Palm's versions. they even supported Raspberry Pi module B. but webOS OSE aka Open Source Edition is really different from TV's version.
